Our story

Saskia studied painting in Budapest and learned that a blank wall makes every color honest.
Ten years of runway color in New York and Paris taught her speed, and taught her to plan.
In 2013 she rented a former gallery two blocks from the Menil and painted nothing.
For three years the white room held one chair and one colorist. The waiting list grew to five months.
Today seven colorists share the room, still one guest at a time.
Every finished color is photographed against the wall. The archive now holds more than eleven thousand portraits.
