Meet Solange
Humidity is my home turf.
I grew up in Opelousas with a grandmother who set her curls in pin rollers every Saturday and swore by aloe from the backyard. South Louisiana air does whatever it wants to curly hair, so I made it my life’s work to build curls that win anyway.
I opened my suite downtown in 2014 after six years on the floor of a busy Baton Rouge salon. Here it’s just me, a steamer, a playlist of zydeco and soul, and you. I cut, hydrate and define, then make sure you can do it yourself on a Tuesday night.

- Fifteen minutes late and we skip the diffuse so the next client stays on time.

How should I come in?
Curls out, no heavy gel, worn the way you usually wear them. I want to see your real day-two hair.
Do you cut wet or dry?
Dry, curl by curl, then I cleanse and define. It’s the only way I trust the length.
What curl types do you work with?
Mostly 2C through 4A. For tighter coils I’ll still see you, and I’ll be honest about what I specialize in.
How do I fight the humidity?
Hydration first, then a strong hold. I’ll show you the exact layering in your appointment.
Can I bring my own products?
Absolutely. I’d rather teach you with what’s already in your shower.
Do you travel for weddings?
Within Southwest Louisiana, yes. Text me your date and venue.
