Long honey-brown balayage waves from behind, in warm evening light

Brunette colorist · Oil Center, Lafayette

Brunette, but warmer. Bronde, but softer.

Lived-in brunettes, caramel ribbons and bronde that grows out without a line. Brides, I start your color six weeks before the big day.

Simone Baptiste, Brunette & bronde colorist

Meet Simone

I fell for brunettes first.

Everyone in my color class wanted to be a blonde specialist. I kept staring at brunettes: the way a dark base can hold a dozen shades of cinnamon, caramel and chestnut when you paint it by hand.

I have colored in the Oil Center since 2014. My clients come every ten to twelve weeks because nothing I do grows out harsh, and my brides get a color timeline so their hair photographs warm, glossy and like themselves.

With warmth, Simone

Kind words from the chair

My dark hair finally looks expensive. It caught the light all through my reception.
Danielle M.Bridal color timeline
Twelve weeks and no line at my roots. That has never happened to me.
Camille R.Lived-in brunette
She talked me out of platinum and into caramel. Best decision of my year.

Good to know

Questions, answered

How far ahead should a bride book?

Three months ahead to hold your dates; color goes on six weeks before the wedding.

Will brunette balayage turn orange?

Not if it is toned properly. I gloss every service and send you home with a blue shampoo.

How often will I need to come back?

Every ten to twelve weeks for most of my clients.

Can you cover gray with a lived-in look?

Yes, with a soft root smudge instead of a hard line.

Do you do bridal hair styling?

No, just color. I will send you to the stylists I trust for the day itself.

Is there a patch test?

Yes, 48 hours before your first color.
