Our story

Josette’s grandmother did every curl on the block in a Seventh Ward kitchen that smelled of rose oil.
Josette swept that kitchen floor at eight and held her first comb at twelve.
In 2012 she restored an 1880s Garden District house and painted the parlor black.
No overhead lights in the cutting rooms — candles and north windows only.
A sister salon opened in the Marigny in 2021 for evening and Sunday guests.
Eight curl artists and one promise: curls are tended here, never tamed.
