Woman with voluminous copper curls in a dark green dress, lit softly against black

Curl salon · Garden District, New Orleans

Curls, in full bloom.

A candlelit curl salon in a Garden District mansion — sculpted cuts, rose-gold color and hydration rituals for every curl, coil and wave.

Welcome to the house

Every curl is a rose waiting to open.

Josette grew up in the Seventh Ward, where her grandmother did every curl on the block in a kitchen that smelled of rose oil and hot combs. She learned that curls, like roses, open when they’re cared for — not forced.

Black Dahlia lives in a restored 1880s Garden District mansion: black walls, candlelight, antique mirrors and eight curl artists who treat every pattern from 2A to 4C like something precious.
