Meet Kechi
I started braiding in a barracks bathroom.
My husband was stationed in Germany and there was no one who could do my hair. So I sat on the floor with a mirror and YouTube and taught myself, then started doing the other wives’ hair too.
When we moved to Fort Cavazos I turned our front room into a studio with a purple door. I keep it cozy, I keep it honest, and I keep my prices fair for families who move every three years.

Questions, answered
Is the military discount every time?
Every single visit, for active duty, veterans and spouses. Just tell me when you book.
Is hair included?
For knotless and twists, yes. For butterfly locs, I include the hair up to shoulder length.
Can my kids come along?
Yes. I have a small corner with books and a tablet. Kids under 5 need a grown-up there.
How should I come in?
Washed, detangled and blown out. No grease, please.
How long do sets last?
Five to seven weeks. Kids’ styles usually last about three.
Do you travel?
No, but I am five minutes off I-14 and easy to find.
Booking policy

- A $30 deposit holds your slot and comes off the total.
- Cancelling
- Cancel 24 hours ahead and your deposit moves to the next date.
- Running late
- Twenty minutes late and I may need to shorten your style.
