Our story

A folding chair, a pair of clippers and a line of neighbors on Saturday mornings behind Grandma Whitaker's house on 16th Street.
In 2010 the old hardware store across the street went up for lease. The neighborhood showed up with paint rollers, and the walls went juniper green.
Elias started paying apprentices in 2012. Forty-one barbers have graduated since, and half of them still cut in Oklahoma City.
The second hall opened in a 1920s bank building, led by Rosa Delgado, with the vault turned into a shave room.
The third hall brought the porch to the arts district, with Marcus Bell at the head chair.
Every first Sunday, all three halls give free cuts to anyone who needs one — kids before school, folks before job interviews. It's how we say thank you.
