The parlour

Twelve years on Greenwood Avenue.

Desmond Okoye opened the parlour with one chair, a steamer and a promise to his grandmother: clean parts, honest prices, no rushing a loc.

Today the board lists the same services it did in 2014, plus a few new ones. Every visit starts with a scalp check and ends with a hot towel.

Is hair included?

For braided styles, hair is included unless noted. Locs and natural styles use your own hair.

How should I prep for my appointment?

Come with hair washed, detangled and blow-dried unless you booked a wash service.

How do I book?

Book online any time, or call or text us — we answer between clients and usually reply within the hour.

What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens. Please give us 24 hours’ notice so someone on the waitlist can take your spot; late cancellations may be charged 50% of the service.
