Built for the ten minutes before the curtain goes up.
Lucien ran wigs for touring shows for a decade before he took over a narrow room above a jazz club on Frenchmen. He hung bulb mirrors, brought in velvet chairs and opened the doors to every performer in the Marigny.
Today Footlights is half salon and half atelier. Downstairs the music never stops. Upstairs we cut, color and style everyone, from first-time drag artists to grandmothers who want a really good blowout, and we build, set and restore wigs on the back bench.
