Cuts & color-blocking · Bishop Arts, Dallas
Sharp shapes. Loud color. Zero beige.
I cut bobs, mullets and blunt fringes, then block them with cobalt, tangerine and pink. Scroll the wall — that’s the menu.

Meet Paz
My mom’s papel picado taught me color.
Every December my mom covered our Oak Cliff porch in papel picado — fuchsia, marigold, turquoise — and I thought that was what a house was supposed to look like. When I started cutting hair in 2015, I wanted heads to feel the same way: bright, graphic, a little festive.
I work alone in a sunny suite above Zang. I cut the shape first, because color only looks expensive on a great cut, then I paint panels, peekaboos and full-color blocks that grow out on purpose. Bring a photo, a palette or just a mood.

Sample client reviews
Kind words from the chair
I asked for ‘sunset but make it a bob’ and Paz delivered — tangerine underneath, pink on top. Strangers stop me at the farmers market.
My peekaboo panel is hidden at work and wild on the weekend. Best of both worlds.
She cut the mullet first, then the color. It grows out like it was planned that way, because it was.

Good to know
Questions, answered
Do I need to bleach for vivid color?
Usually, yes, unless your hair is already light. I use a bond builder every time to keep it healthy.
How long will vivid color last?
Four to eight weeks depending on the shade. Blues and greens last longest, pinks fade fastest.
Why do you cut before coloring?
Because color highlights the shape. A sharp cut makes vivid look expensive instead of messy.
Can I go back to natural later?
Yes. I plan every block so it can be toned out or grown out on purpose.
Do you do subtle?
Peekaboo panels are my version of subtle.
What should I bring?
Photos, a palette, a paint swatch — anything that shows me the mood.
