Meet Lorraine
I have done the hair of mothers, then their daughters.
I started in my aunt’s shop on Second Street in 1994, setting rollers for Saturday weddings. By 2000 I was only doing brides, and I have never wanted to do anything else.
These days I style the daughters of women I did hair for in the nineties. I like classic shapes that will look right in thirty years, and I keep the morning quiet. Second weddings, older brides and vow renewals are some of my favorite days.

- Deposit
- A $100 retainer holds your date and comes off the total.
- Cancelling
- Retainers transfer to a new date within one year.

- If the day runs long, extra time is $80 an hour.

Questions, answered
Do you work with silver or gray hair?
Often, and happily. I gloss it first so it looks bright, not yellow, in photos.
Do you do modern styles?
Yes, though I lean classic. A soft wave or a low chignon never dates a photo.
How many people can you style?
Up to six on a wedding morning. I take one wedding a day.
Can I wear my mother’s veil or comb?
Please do. I have pinned heirlooms from the 1950s on, and I am very careful with them.
When should I book?
Spring and fall Saturdays fill a year ahead. Weekdays and summer open later.
Do you do makeup?
No, hair only. I will gladly recommend artists I have worked beside for years.
