From the editor

Part salon, part members' club, entirely ours.

Marcus spent twelve years cutting hair in New York and London members' clubs, the kind with leather chairs, quiet bartenders and a dress code. He loved the craft and hated who was usually left out. So he came home to Austin and built the club he wanted: the same tailoring-sharp work, the same calm, and a door that opens for everyone.

Indigo is open to the public six days a week. Members get Sunday hours, standing appointments and the bar cart. Cuts are priced by time, never by gender, and every chair looks out over Lady Bird Lake.

My first haircut after coming out, in a private room overlooking the lake, with Marcus walking me through every step. I'll remember it forever.

Juliet's indigo is the most beautiful blue I've ever seen. It's navy indoors and electric in the sun.
