Barber cutting an older man's hair in a classic shop with a green-tiled wall and morning light through tall windows

Straight lines since 1998.

Six chairs, two generations of barbers and a green tile floor that's seen more good haircuts than any room in the Ozarks.

Nº 01 — The shop

Old shop. New blood. Same standard.

Walt Ashby opened Evergreen in 1998 with two chairs bought from a closing shop in Rogers and the green tile floor that's still under your feet. In 2019 he handed the scissors — and half the business — to Desmond Cole, the best barber he ever trained.

Now it's six chairs: three old hands who can do a flat-top in their sleep, three younger barbers who live for skin fades and beard design. The coffee is still free and the conversation is still about the Razorbacks.

Our story

A shop that outlived three landlords

Walt Ashby bought two chairs from a closing shop in Rogers, laid a green tile floor himself and opened the door on Dickson Street with forty dollars in the till.

My dad got his hair cut by Walt in 1999. I got mine cut by Desmond last week. Same floor, same coffee, same perfect taper.
Travis B.The Evergreen cut
Best straight-razor shave in Arkansas and I'll fight anyone on it.
Leon W.Hot-towel shave
Mateo is the first barber who's ever known what to do with my curls. I drive in from Bentonville for him.
Isaac R.Curly cut
Six groomsmen at seven in the morning on game day. They opened early, put the pregame on and had us out sharp.
Colby D.Groomsmen morning
Rusty has cut my son's hair since his first birthday. He's nine now and won't go anywhere else.
