Meet Delphine
I was the bride who was told to “just press it.”
In 2011, three stylists told me my 4C hair would not hold an updo unless I straightened it. I did my own wedding hair instead, in my mother’s kitchen, and it held through a Tyler thunderstorm.
I opened my atelier in the Azalea District the next year. Every bride I style keeps her texture: coils, curls, locs, twists. I plan around shrinkage, humidity and veils, and I bring a kit built for textured hair, not borrowed from someone else’s.

One week out, a softening treatment so your hair is ready.

I arrive early with a kit made for texture and finish with your veil.
Booking policy

- Deposit
- A $125 retainer holds your date and comes off the total.
- Cancelling
- Retainers are non-refundable but transfer to a new date within a year.
- Running late
- Extra time on the day is $90 an hour.

Questions, answered
Do I need a silk press?
Never. I style your natural texture. If you want a press, I will tell you honestly whether it suits the style.
Will my updo hold in humidity?
Yes. I set with products and pinning built for textured hair and East Texas weather.
Do you style locs?
Yes, from starter locs to waist length. I bring loc-safe pins and accessories.
When should I start prepping?
Four to six weeks before. Your trial includes a prep routine.
How many people can you style?
Up to six on the day, including the bride.
Do you do makeup?
No, hair only. I can share makeup artists who know deeper skin tones well.
