Chapter one · Leaving the big salon
I traded twelve chairs for one window.
For eleven years I worked in a busy salon with twelve chairs, two receptionists and a blow-dryer roar you could hear from the parking lot. I loved my clients. I didn’t love shouting over the noise to talk to them.
In 2020 I opened Bluewater: one chair, one window facing the bay, and all of my attention on whoever is sitting in it.
