The work
Fresh from the chair

Meet Andre
I started with my grandmother’s pressing comb.
I grew up in Opelousas, doing my aunties’ hair for church and every cousin’s prom. I went to cosmetology school in Lafayette and added makeup because brides kept asking who would match their glam to their hair.
I have done more than 600 weddings across Acadiana, from Catholic church ceremonies to backyard crawfish receptions. I match foundation by hand for every bride, and I build styles that hold through Louisiana humidity and a long night of dancing.

Kind words from the chair
First time a makeup artist got my shade right without three tries. My skin looked like skin.
We danced until midnight in August in Breaux Bridge. My curls held. Andre is a wizard.
He did seven of us and the whole room was laughing. Not one of us felt rushed.

Good to know
Questions, answered
Do you work with all hair textures?
Yes. Coils, curls, relaxed, silk-pressed, fine and straight. I bring tools for all of it.
Will you match my foundation?
I mix your shade by hand at the trial and bring the exact mix on the day.
How many people can you do alone?
Up to seven services. For bigger parties I bring one assistant I trained.
When should I do my silk press?
Two days before the wedding, in my studio. It is gentler than pressing the same morning.
Do you travel?
Across Acadiana. Lafayette Parish is free, and other parishes have a flat $50 fee.
Do you do grooms?
Yes, a quick touch-up so he does not shine in photos.
