Meet Abena
A soldier’s kid with clippers.
I grew up on three different posts and my dad trusted exactly one person with his head: my mom, with a pair of clippers on the kitchen floor. I took over when I was fourteen, and every kid on our street lined up after.
I got licensed in 2017 and opened my own chair on Avenue D. Mornings are for soldiers who need to be in regs, afternoons for kids after school, Saturdays for twists, tapers and anybody who wants to sit a little longer.

- Deposit
- No deposit for cuts; twists hold with a card.
- Cancelling
- 12 hours to cancel; PCS and duty changes are always excused.
- Running late
- Ten minutes late and I will do what fits before the next client.

Are your regulation cuts really inspection ready?
Yes. I know the Army standard and I check the back with a hand mirror before you stand up.
Do you cut women’s short hair?
Yes: tapers, undercuts and pixie fades.
How early can I book?
The first weekday slot is 6:00 a.m.
Do you do kids with sensory needs?
Yes. Tell me when you book and I will clear the slot after yours.
Do you take walk-ins?
If Squire shows an open slot, walk right in.
Payment?
Card, cash and tap. Tips are never expected but always appreciated.
